Despite a cult following, they were discontinued in the 1990s, Devotees began paying as much as $40 on eBay for a single pencil. We acquired the brand in 2010 and brought it back for a new generation of artists, musicians, and everyday people looking to unplug and live more mindfully We teamed up with Death Row Records to create this special edition Blackwing X Death Row Records Slate Notebook. Each A5 notebook contains 160 pages of 100 GSM dot-grid paper and features our signature lay-flat binding. matte cover, and pencil holster. It also includes an exclusive Blackwing X Death Row Records pencil with our soft graphite core.
Death Row Records changed music and the music industry. The Los Angeles-based company, formed in 1991 and now celebrating its 30th anniversary, catapulted gangster rap into mainstream consciousness, housed a number of superstars, and showed how successful black-owned rap labels could be.
